Every effort you make to save energy makes a difference, whether you participate in the PeakRewardsSM Program or reduce your energy use in other ways.

From working and learning to preparing meals and staying safe at home, we understand this year has looked different for many of our customers. As more everyday activities continue to take place at home, you may be looking for ways to save on your monthly energy bills.

To help you save energy and money as we move into the colder months, we’ve compiled some of our top savings resources:

1. Sign up for High Usage Alerts.

You may be using more energy right now, especially if more members of your household are at home using appliances and computers and watching TV. Avoid unwanted surprises on your bill by signing up for High Usage Alerts.

Log into BGE’s My Account and set your preferences to receive a text or email when your energy usage is trending higher than usual so you can take steps to reduce your usage before your next bill. You can also set a dollar threshold to be alerted when your bill is projected to be higher than a specific amount each month.*

2. Complete a Home Energy Analysis.

While you’re spending more time around the house, consider taking a short online energy assessment to see what the biggest energy users are in your home. Once you know what’s using the most energy in your home, you can find smart ways to reduce your monthly energy costs and keep your bills low.

Take a few minutes to log into My Account and fill out the quick What Uses Most questionnaire. When complete, you’ll receive a personal Home Energy Analysis with customized savings tips to help you make your home more energy efficient.
